Before you go
Look up the latest session announcement. Check distance, meeting time, start time and the exact landmark. Ask whether the group has a pace that works for you and whether someone stays with the last runner. “All paces” can mean different things in different clubs.
At the meeting point
Arrive before the advertised start. Find the organiser, say it is your first visit and ask how the route works. Find out whether there are regroup points, where the run finishes and what happens if you decide to stop early.
On the run
Follow the route briefing and leave room for other path users. Let someone know if you are leaving the group. You do not need to match someone else’s pace to be part of a community.
Afterwards
Check how the next session is announced. Ask before adding people to groups or posting identifiable photos. A simple introduction is enough—you do not have to stay for every post-run plan.
